Taskbar Angler

A tiny pixel-art fisherman sits on top of your Windows taskbar, fishes on his own, and quietly earns gold while you work.

He never needs you. Glance down now and then: click the ! for a Perfect Hook, sell a full bucket, buy a better rod. Close the game for the night and he keeps fishing while you're away.

What's in the tackle box

• 90 fish in six places (Village Pond, River Bend, Misty Lake, Coastal Pier, Frozen Fjord and the Abyssal Trench), plus 8 seasonal fish. Filling the Fishdex takes about two and a half months of AFK play.
• Gear in five slots (rod, reel, line, hook and hat), bought, crafted from materials or found in treasure chests, plus bait that some fish insist on.
• Weather and a day/night cycle that follow your real clock. Some fish only bite in fog, storms, snow or at night.
• Retire & Pass the Rod: retire your angler to the rocking chair on the pier, start a new apprentice, and spend Pearls on perks that make every run faster.
• Companions: a Harbour Cat, a Pelican and an Otter who sit on the pier and help out.
• 36 achievements, with hats and titles as rewards.
• The Harbourmaster's board of fishing requests.
• Seasonal events on the real calendar: Harvest Moon, Winterfest, Blossom Days and Midsummer.

Stays out of your way

• Clicks pass straight through to whatever is underneath, except on him, his catch, his bucket and the odd golden bubble.
• A full-width strip or a small pier you drag along the taskbar, in four sizes, on any monitor.
• Ctrl+Alt+F hides and shows him (you can change the key). He also hides over fullscreen apps, and there's Do not disturb, a battery saver and reduce motion.
• Light on your PC: under 1% CPU on a typical 4-core machine and about 90 MB of memory.
• No sound, so it's safe for the office.
• Works offline and collects no data.

Good to know

• Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Made for a taskbar at the bottom of the screen; with a top or side taskbar he sits at the bottom of the screen instead.
• Offline fishing counts up to 12 hours at first; upgrades raise it.
• Windows may warn you the first time you run it, because the game isn't code-signed: click More info, then Run anyway.
